Meet strangers and pass along your tribal knowledge

Author: Aaron Towns
This past winter I thought to myself, “How can I make deer season arrive faster?” And I figured out the answer: fly fishing. For Christmas, I asked for all the small items like forceps and nippers. From there, I bought a beginner Orvis fly rod and reel and any other bare essentials to catch a mountain trout. Shortly after, my family took a trip to Banner Elk, NC and I got my first shot at chasing trout in the mountains without a guide.  On the first day of the trip, my wife granted me an ...

BHA Podcast & Blast, Ep. 56: Fighting For Sunday Hunting In The East

Some of you may be shocked to learn that in 11 U.S. states, regulations still exist restricting hunting on Sundays. Other states allow Sunday hunting only on private lands even though they encompass vast expanses of national forest and state lands. It is hard to imagine a stronger point of frustration to all of us who work Monday through Friday and live to ...

Originally published Aug 25th, 2019 on www.bozemandailychronicle.com As the owner of Montana Angler Fly Fishing, it’s easy to see how rivers impact my business and my life. Industry Partners Speak Up for Stream Access

On July 24 New Mexico's State Game Commission enacted a 90-day moratorium on the existing stream access regulation that allows sections of streams running through private land to be deemed non-navigable. The existing regulation was developed in order to enforce a 2015 bill that narrowly passed which aims to make public access to certain streams illegal except for with written permission. At the meeting commissioners heard conflicting statements about the legality of the 2015 stream access ...
