NM Public Land Trapping Ban Moves Forward

Author: Joel Gay
A ban on trapping on public lands throughout New Mexico is a step closer after the Senate Conservation Committee today (Tuesday, Feb. 2) voted by a wide margin to approve it. Senate Bill 32, known as the Wildlife Conservation & Public Safety Act, passed 7-2 after minimal public testimony was allowed. Only a handful of the public was allowed to testify, and of those, few were in opposition to the trapping ban. NM BHA sought permission to testify but was not chosen by the chair to speak. We ...

Vermont Welcomes Its Third Collegiate Club

There's something in the water in Vermont. This month, BHA added the University of Vermont to their roster of college clubs, the third in the state joining St. Michael's College and Castleton University. Instead of seeing the pandemic as a hindrance, they saw it as an opportunity to plant roots, building up a leadership board that promises to deliver good things in the semesters to come. Help me in welcoming the leaders who stepped up to bring BHA's public lands mission and work to their ...

New York BHA Chapter Update - Winter 2021

Author: New York BHA
From the Chair I hope this newsletter finds everyone healthy as we put 2020 in the rearview mirror and give our full attention to 2021. I also hope everyone had a successful hunting season by whatever measure you use. It’s hard to believe hunting season is already behind us and the hard water season is upon us. Where I come from “hard water” had a totally different meaning, who knew one could actually walk on water, drill a hole through it, and drop a line...Crazy! The New York chapter is ...
