The Colorado Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA) chapter held their 15th Annual Rendezvous in the San Isabel National Forest west of Salida/Poncha Springs during June. A dozen hunters and anglers from around the state set up camp in a high-mountain meadow (known locally as the “goat wadi”) at 9,000-plus feet in the Sawatch Range. Spring Creek Rim Fence Removal

Draining the east slope of the Umcompahgre Plateau, Spring creek cuts an impressive gorge on its descent to the broad farming valley around Montrose Colorado. Livestock grazing has a long history on Forest Service (FS) lands along Spring Creek. With the grazing comes the fences and inevitable conflict with wildlife. RECAP: Archery Day for New Hunters

RECAP: Drink & Duck : Paint Your Own Duck Decoy Night at Filson

This past June 27th, NY BHA hosted a ticketed event at Filson NYC to paint black duck decoys.   The chapter purchased the decoys and paint kits from Dixie Decoys and refreshments were generously donated by West Kill Brewing.  The attendees all did a great job at painting their black ducks and more than a few folks were inspired to want to hunt ducks this upcoming season!

RI BHA Submits Comments to CRMC on Quidnessett Country Club’s Illegal Seawall

Catfish Camp 2024 Thirty people braved the heat June 21-23 at Lake Dardanelle State Park to spend time with friends and get out on the water chasing America’s favorite whiskered fish. Trot lines, noodles and drop line fishing from boats provided a couple stringers of blue cats.
