College Club Leaders Taking the Lead on Recruitment Efforts

Our collegiate program boasts some hard-working and dedicated emerging leaders in the conservation, hunting, and angling communities. Club leaders, many of which didn't grow up hunting or fishing themselves, are actively working to recruit new hunters and anglers at their universities. They are using their experience to shape the way they approach their outreach and are seeing amazing results. More impressively, they are doing this all while pursuing degrees and working part-time jobs. ...

In a show of support for the wild places and history of Texas, voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 5 at the polls earlier this month — dedicating much needed funding to parks and historical sites statewide. Continuing the Conservation Ethic

By Corey Ellis One of the greatest impacts of the hunting conservation movement that is our history, all hunters’ history, did not only benefit the game species that hunters pursue. That sage flat that hunters protected not only saved pronghorns and sage grouse; it also saved long-billed curlews and gray flycatchers. A ponderosa glade that was purchased with sportsmen’s dollars and deposited in the bank of public lands not only protected wintering grounds for elk and mule deer; it also ...

Understanding Access on Arizona's State Trust Lands

Bella, my German Wirehair Pointer, and I quartered through the thick grass cover, prickly pear cactus, yucca, and a few pinon and juniper in search of Arizona’s renowned Gambel's quail. We were hunting a small portion of the over 9 million acres of state trust land in Arizona. Did you know you can use these lands even though they are listed as not “Public Lands” and posted as “No Trespassing”? Some of these lands are open to hunting and fishing if you have a valid hunting and fishing license ...
