TAKE ACTION: Oppose North Dakota HB 1151

UPDATE: 4/4/23- House Bill 1151 failed to pass with a Senate vote of 26 opposed, 21 in favor.  Likely the most contentious bill of the legislative session for ND BHA, the bill passed the house but was fortunately killed in the senate. The chapter opposed this bill mainly upon the premise that it would have stripped the ND Game & Fish Department of their authority to implement their game management plans. Thank you to our partner organizations and everyone that contacted their Representatives ...

Celebrating 60 Years of the National Grasslands

Author: Brock Wahl
Photo by Jack Pieper For us prairie dwellers who lack the large mountain ranges and vast expanses of the Rocky Mountain West, June 20th will be a day to celebrate. It marks the 60th birthday of our National Grasslands. The Grasslands’ story is one that is truly American: ripe with exploitation and natural disaster, an ensuing rescue effort, and prosperous success. The National Grasslands and portions of nearby Bureau of Land Management lands were once overgrazed, overhunted and abused ...

Spring 2020 North Dakota Chapter update

NDBHA has high hopes for 2020.  We have doubled down on our planning efforts this year, so we can be involved in more events to grow our membership and increase our fundraising. We have also established a list of policy actions that we would like to push for moving forward so that we can proactively impact the 2021 legislative assembly. 2020 is also a gubernatorial election year for North Dakota, so we will be monitoring that throughout the year. We are on a constant search for active ...
