The Connection Between Man & Animal

The following post was written by Wyoming BHA Co-Chair Scott Reekers. The young cow lay quietly breathing her last as the temperature dropped in the cold December evening air. Minutes before I had made the decision to end her life to provide food for my family. I struggled to celebrate, or to jump up and down yelling because life was ending. With labored effort from broken lungs she exhaled her final breath. Immediately after the shot my hunting partner had gone back up the hill to call home ...

12,000 Years of Great Fishing

The following was written by BHA's Conservation Director Holly Endersby, after a recent fishing trip to Kelly Creek (Idaho). Utter the words Kelly Creek to a real backcountry trout bum and she will immediately know you’re talking about an icy cold stream sparkling through a big chunk of central Idaho beginning near the Montana border. A blue ribbon, catch and release trout stream, Kelly Creek eventually mingles its water with the North Fork of the Clearwater River. A recent University of ...

So when land ...
