Summer 2019 Nevada Chapter News

The chapter has added a number of new chapter leaders to accommodate the growth we are seeing from last year. With this new blood in the chapter, we have greatly increased our capacity to be more engaged in policy and have started planning more events and volunteer opportunities moving forward in 2019.             With the state legislation in full swing, most of our attention has been towards commenting and activating our members to voice our opinion on bills focused on public lands and our ...

The Classic provided our board members an opportunity to discuss the issues facing Iowa’s public lands and wildlife with a broader audience and the reception was outstanding. With the support of Land Tawney, the Iowa Chapter’s weekend of public lands, pints, conservation and a whole lot of handshakes resulted ...

Volunteering for a few hours at an event - that's impressive and greatly appreciated. But volunteering an entire week of your summer to improve trails on our public lands? Now THAT deserves an extra dose of appreciation! BHA Podcast & Blast, Ep.54: Beretta’s Cory Mays and Dakotah Richardson

When you are shooting a classic Beretta over and under shotgun at the trap range or in the field, you are handling a finely made weapon built by the same company that made the arquebus barrels used to quell the Ottoman Turks at the ferocious Battle of Lepanto in 1571. Heck, Beretta Arms was already almost 50 years old by then! The Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta, with its headquarters in Brescia, Italy (in the Val Trompe, a center of iron ore mining and smelting since the days of the Roman ...

Oil and Gas Industry Attorney Tapped as BLM Head

By Tristan Scott - July 29, 2019 - Originally published in the Flathead Beacon A coalition of conservation and sportsmen groups on July 29 denounced the hiring of William Perry Pendley as the new acting co-director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), saying his support for selling off millions of acres of public lands puts him at odds with the agency’s core mission, which is to administer public lands. Pendley also has a deep connection to Northwest Montana — not as a resident, but ...
