Maisie Kroon

Operations Associate

Maisie Kroon grew up in Western Montana and was raised with a deep appreciation for the backcountry. Her love for the outdoors began in a two-room schoolhouse where science courses featured a two-week-long backpacking trip along the continental divide and physical education consisted of skiing in the Pintler Mountains. This uniquely outdoor upbringing created a deep understanding for the value of public lands, especially when paired with early childhood education.

Maisie's love for the outdoors only grew as she began to understand the challenges facing the natural spaces that shaped her. The power of education, a love for the wild, and the knowledge that something had to be done inspired Maisie to earn a Master's degree in Environmental Philosophy.

Maisie still lives in Western Montana, unable to leave the beautiful landscapes she grew up in. She spends her time floating rivers, backpacking, camping, skiing, and doing just about anything to get her outside. Maisie is incredibly grateful to live in such a beautiful place and work for an organization that protects such places.
