RECAP: Southeast Chapter Small Game Hunt

On February 22, 2025, the Southeast Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers organized a small game hunt at Sherburne Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Lottie, Louisiana. This event combined hunting with conservation efforts, reflecting BHA's commitment to preserving public lands. Southeast Chapter Supports LDWF’s Proposed License and Fee Changes

On April 21, 2021, Representative Tony Bacala introduced House Bill 691 in order to implement a hunting and fishing license restructure. The restructure of licenses and fees would simplify the purchasing process by consolidating multiple existing licenses into fewer licenses, and provide an increase in revenue for the Department. Fall 2019 Southeast Chapter News

In the midst of our usual summer heat and humidity, the Southeast chapter has had a busy few months enjoying our public lands and waters. We followed up our successful Gobblers and Garbage initiative by issuing a chapter-wide challenge during Hike to Hunt to collect trash while folks were out trekking the trails. Summer 2019 Southeast Chapter News

The Southeast chapter recently held a public land cleanup initiative during spring turkey season. Our Gobblers and Garbage contest combined our love for turkey hunting with our passion for public lands. Southeast chapter members competed by removing plastic grocery bags full of garbage from their favorite hunting.
