2023 Kentucky BHA Year of Progress

2023 has been another year of success and growth for the Kentucky Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. We hosted 15 official events in 2021, 31 events in 2022, this year we are up to 40 official events, one of which is getting ready to happen as of this writing. That is an increase of nearly 30% in one year. Fish and Wildlife Commission nixes quota ranges for trophy-hunting districts

Senate Committee Advances Legislation to Conserve Public Lands

On Dec. 14, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted to advance six pieces of legislation that would conserve landscapes Backcountry Hunters & Anglers considers high-priority because they hold valuable fish and wildlife habitat across the western United States. Montana BHA Responds to New Elk Management Plan

FWP’s new Elk Plan has been adopted. Last revisited in 2004, the long awaited plan has a lot to like, but falls short of expectations.  Montana BHA participated diligently in the public scoping process of the new Elk Management Plan (EMP) draft, providing extensive and detailed comments in July, and encouraged our members to do the same.
