CT RECAP: Forest Clean-up and Invasives Foraging Class Naugatuck State Forest April 2024

The Connecticut team of the New England Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers joined Joe Ross, arborist and founder of eattheplanet.org, and Amy Demers, founder of CT Foraging Club, for a class on foraging invasives. Attendees identified and learned how to utilize edible and medicinal invasive plants in the forest.  After the class, participants helped out in the removal of invasive plants and garbage at Naugatuck State Forest.    Want to join in on more events like this? VT Recap: Maintenance Day at Dead Creek WMA April 2024

The Vermont team of the New England Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers held a Maintenance Day at Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area  on April 13th, removing brush and trees on the West Branch dam helping to maintain the dam's structural integrity. The dam creates an 80-acre pond that is well known for its waterfowl hunting and fishing. Public Lands to Benefit from Final BLM Oil and Gas Leasing Rule

A new rule finalized today by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will help to avoid conflict between oil and gas leasing and wildlife habitat on public lands enjoyed by hunters and anglers.
