Wyoming BHA Spring 2016 Update

The WY Chapter has been active this winter and spring. Janet Marschner and others hosted the first annual "Taste of the Wild" event in Cheyenne. There was tremendous response to the event, with around 100 people attending. Thank you, Janet, for planning this great event! New England BHA Summer 2016 Update

Connecticut: A number of inquiries about membership came from Connecticut this spring. Board member Matthew McKenzie has met with one individual, Andy Billip, and together they are planning a southern New England BHA rendezvous outside Hartford later in the summer. Minnesota BHA Summer 2016 Update

Minnesota BHA board member and filmmaker Mark Norquist was the recipient of BHA’s Sigurd Olson Award at the North American Rendezvous in Missoula. Mark’s award-winning film “Fish Out of Water” (along with “Flush in the Wild”) highlight efforts to protect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in northern Minnesota from proposed sulfide-ore copper mines. Colorado BHA Summer 2016 Update

Colorado BHA held its 8th annual rendezvous during early June in the San Isabel National Forest west of Salida. During the weekend we recognized BHA Life Member Steven Choromanski for spearheading the chapter’s efforts to get “smart rifles” and “live-action game cameras” banned for use in Colorado by the Colorado Parks & Wildlife Commission (approved Nov. 2015). Wisconsin BHA Summer 2016 Update

The Wisconsin Chapter of BHA was formed in March and has hit the ground running to tackle issues of conservation, public lands and waters access, and raising awareness of the chapter’s creation. We worked with the outdoor editor in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and published an article on the chapter’s formation.
