EVENT RECAP: Montana BHA Improves Ten Miles of Forest Service Trails

At the end of August, nearly a dozen Montana BHA volunteers backpacked into Carpp Lake to complete trail improvements on more than ten miles of trail. Our crew arrived and set up at basecamp early Friday afternoon. After a bit of rain, we headed out to build rock cairns to help mark the difficult-to-follow fire-scorched stretches of Warren Pass trail. EVENT RECAP: Carpp Lake Trail Work

Over the weekend of August 12-14, in partnership with the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, 6 MT BHA volunteers ventured into the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness with picks, shovels, saws and Pulaski's. On November 30, 2021, an angler reported shockingly low water levels on the Madison to staff at Galloup’s Slide Inn near Quake Lake.
