A Brief History of the Wild Turkey in Indiana

Author: Brian Stone
“A Brief History of the Wild Turkey in Indiana” “The first turkey that ever came to me on the ground did it a long time ago. I sat there with my hands shaking and my breath short and my heart hammering so hard I could not understand why he could not hear it. The last turkey that came to me last spring had exactly the same effect, and the day that this does not happen to me is the day that I quit.”—Tom Kelly Indiana is a fantastic state for turkey hunting. IN BHA HB 1447 - State Management of State Forests

Author: Indiana BHA

Author: Indiana BHA
New Public Land Acquisition a Win for Us All! As you’ve probably already heard, Indiana DNR recently acquired 4,000 acres in Sullivan County. Author: Indiana BHA
On Saturday, July 13th and Sunday, July 14th, the Indiana chapter put in some serious work at the Willow Slough FWA, a 10,000 acre property near Morocco, Indiana. This property borders Illinois, so it was fitting that we had two members from the Illinois chapter join us. The property manager, Mike Schoof, is in the process of changing the boundaries of the waterfowl resting area in order to create better conditions for migratory birds. Indiana BHA Hosts Forest Managment Pint Night with Sentinel Landscape

Author: Indiana BHA
On Saturday, June 15th, we hosted Michael Spalding of Sentinel Landscape at our Pint Night at Heartwork Brewing Co. in Bloomington, Indiana.
