Caitlin Thompson / Thursday, July 18, 2013 / Categories: Media OR BHA to Ron Wyden: "Keep our Public Lands in Public Hands" BHA has begun placing a series of ads around the state urging Senator Wyden to “keep public lands in public hands” as our Congressional delegation proposes to increase logging on 2.4 million acres of federal land. Copies of the BHA ads that are appearing in the Eugene Register Guard, The Corvallis Gazette, the Albany Democrat Herald, the Coos Bay World, the Medford Tribune, the Klamath Falls Herald, and the Roseburg Gazette. BHA wants to protect our traditional hunting & fishing habitat as well as non-motorized access to these lands while recognizing the need for a balanced and sustainable timber harvest to help support revenues in the 18 counties where these lands are located. Please contact Senator Wyden’s office in Portland by attaching one of these ads and sending a simple e-mail message thanking him for his work on our behalf. That’s all we have to do. As Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Senator Wyden holds a lot of weight in the outcome of this proposed revision. Please send your note and copied ad to: mary_gautreaux@wyden.senate.gov Click on the ad's to the right for a full-size downloadable file. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to OR BHA Co-Chair, Ed Putnum.
