The increased and improved public access is something our roughly 3,000 dues-paying Montana members stand firmly behind. Other benefits of interest are the stabilization of stream bank to prevent further erosion and to promote a healthy riparian corridor, a new gravel boat launch ramp and an improved parking lot. With the improvements mentioned above, the public will have increased access to the Beaverhead River to enjoy fishing, floating, boating, swimming and wildlife viewing. For those reasons the Montana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers offers this comment in support of Alternative B, the proposed action to move forward with this acquisition and development.
