I had heard the term wilderness before, but I didn't fully appreciate what it meant until I spent a week hiking over 70 miles through the Bob Marshall wilderness doing trail maintenance with BHA's Armed Forces initiative. This is an amazing part of the country, and I am so thankful to the Armed Forces Initiative for offering me a chance to go. Having seen the Bob Marshall it's so much easier for me to explain to folks why wild places matter particularly to the military community. I learned so much about the North American model of wildlife conservation. DJ, our host, was an amazing instructor, and the Fly fishing was incredible. Thank you.
