Summer 2019 California Chapter News

With the chapter growing to over 2000 members, chapter leaders are planning many exciting events and clinics to keep the momentum moving forward for the remainder of 2019. The California board is functioning at maximum capacity and bringing on motivated chapter leaders earlier this year has provided the chapter with many new strategies and ideas. One of the ideas is making sure BHA is deeply involved in the state’s newly established R3 initiative. We have a number of BHA members helping direct the state on plans to ensure hunting is a viable recreational activity in California.

Now that the summer is on the horizon, the chapter is set to finalize plans to offer our members volunteer opportunities. These opportunities are wide ranging and include public land clean-ups, fly-fishing clinics and wild game butchering seminars. Now that the chapter is running on all cylinders, we plan to engage in more policy issues regarding our public land in California. In the past, we have been involved in numerous policies issues about water management and the desert landscape. Now that we have added chapter leaders throughout the state, we are taking on issues ranging from fishing regulation changes to ocean management topics that effect our ocean fisheries.
