RECAP: NY BHA Amawalk/Muscoot River Arbor Day Tree Planting

NY BHA in collaboration with NYC TU, and NY HOC held an Arbor Day Tree Planting Saturday, April 27, 2024 along the Amawalk/Muscoot River near the town of Amawalk, NY. We returned again this year to plant another 50-plus trees on the banks above the Wood St. bridge access point to help improve the habitat for both the fish in the river and the wildlife in the riparian area along the banks of the river. We also built deer enclosures to protect the newly trees until they are grown enough to sustain deer browse pressure.
