Chapter works with Congress on Desert Protection

Throughout last year, the California Chapter was been involved in working with Representative Cook and Senator Feinstein on their California Off-Road Recreation and Conservation Act (H.R. 857) and the California Desert Protection and Recreation Act of 2017 (S.32) respectively. These two bills will protect critical conservation areas and designate Wilderness area while opening specific OHV trails. These bills are a perfect example of balancing the needs of multiple users on public lands while dealing with the demands of a large population located close to this vital habitat. The chapter was grateful to provide advice and guidance while working with our Congress on these bills.
