Virtual Rally to Celebrate National Public Lands Day

Lawmakers and conservation leaders highlight wins, threats, and nationwide volunteer efforts

Washington, D.C.—Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, alongside The Wilderness Society and Vet Voice Foundation, will host a virtual rally with Congressional lawmakers and public lands supporters on Sept. 24, 2025, to celebrate America’s public lands. The event will highlight recent victories, discuss ongoing threats—including proposed public land sell-offs, monument rollbacks, changes to the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and efforts to weaken land management agencies—and rally supporters ahead of National Public Lands Day.

The Rally will kick off local celebrations and days of action across the country on Friday and Saturday, uniting advocates, volunteers, and communities in defense of our shared public lands and waters. This virtual rally is open to the public and members of the media.

Featured speakers will include:

Several members of Congress have also been invited to speak.

About National Public Lands Day

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, all national parks will offer free admission in honor of Public Lands Day.

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers seeks to ensure North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of wild public lands, waters, and wildlife.
