As the name suggests the 1920 acre Wapiti WMA is home to elk but is also great habitat for mule deer, white-tailed deer, and turkey. Fourteen volunteers completed removal of a barbed wire fence, and net wire fence, on the southeast section of the WMA. Three of the volunteers drew gifts from generous BHA corporate sponsors; one pair of Irish Setter boots, a Yeti cooler, and an On-X subscription. Following fence removal BHA board members cooked delicious tail gate elk tacos. Thanks to the agency partners and all the volunteers who came out to make this project successful!
