Caitlin Thompson / Friday, June 21, 2013 / Categories: Media MT BHA Rendezvous Campout "Wildly Successful" "Wildly successful" describes Montana Chapter's first Campout as 35 members and their families gathered along the Blackfoot River in June.The weekend Campout proved to be a terrific way to get to know kindred souls from across the State who share the passion for wild places and wild things.A balloon-decorated bear target served as the focus for the archery shoot, followed by talks and demonstrations on flintknapping by Steve Platt and winter camping and backcountry skiing by Dick Robertson. A Nature Scavenger Hunt yielded a collection of plants, insects and sign of wildlife, and prizes for the luckiest. Following an evening barbeque, Jay Kolbe, local state biologist took questions and explained the challenges facing big game in the Blackfoot drainage.
