BHA National Board Chairman Ryan Busse, a Kalispell resident, issued the following statement: “The Badger-Two Medicine is a place that unites cultures and generations. People have been refilling their souls there for as long as anyone can remember. It’s sacred to us all for good reason – and is not a place for industrial development. On behalf of public lands sportsmen, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers offers thanks to the Blackfeet Nation, Interior Secretary Jewell and Sen. Jon Tester for their tireless efforts in achieving this victory.” The Badger-Two Medicine area lies between the Bob Marshall Wilderness and Glacier National Park. Two oil and gas leases in the region remain; efforts by tribal members, conservationists and sportsmen to cancel those remaining leases continue. Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is the sportsmen’s voicefor our wild public lands, waters and wildlife.
