MISSOULA, Mont. – A former member and chair of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers’ North American board of directors, Ryan Busse, has written a book about his career in the gun industry. Busse’s book “Gunfight” is unrelated to BHA, and BHA is not connected to it in any way.  

In 2014, BHA’s North American board voted unanimously in support of a policy statement declaring BHA’s commitment to the 2nd Amendment: 

“Backcountry Hunters & Anglers proudly supports the individual right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.” 

BHA has never engaged in 2nd Amendment policy issues, and we do not plan to do so now. We focus our resources on mission-relevant priorities: conserving important habitat, sustaining and enhancing public access, promoting fair chase and expanding hunting and fishing opportunities.
