Support Strong Legislation for Hunters and Anglers: HELP for Wildlife Act

The ability to access quality fish and wildlife is an American birthright. The Hunting Heritage and Environmental Legacy Preservation (HELP) for Wildlife Act, S. 1514, ensures this right with the inclusion of strong provisions that make habitat restoration a policy priority.

America’s 40 million hunters and anglers who contribute heavily to the $887-billion outdoor recreation economy will reap the benefits from provisions in S. 1514, such as reauthorizing the North American Wetlands Conservation Act and Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act to restore wetlands that provide essential food sources and nesting grounds for migratory waterfowl including wood ducks, gadwalls, blue-winged teal and many other species. We also stand to gain from language in the bill that enhances the Chesapeake Bay Program, which addresses clean water concerns in a watershed that is home to world-class fishing and hunting opportunities; reauthorizes the nation’s largest conservation grant-maker, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation; and funds local grassroot efforts through the National Fish Habitat and Conservation Act.

Sportsmen and women like you can help pass this strong legislative package by urging your senators to consider the HELP for Wildlife Act, S. 1514, on the chamber’s floor. This is YOUR chance to safeguard your birthright to access quality fish and wildlife habitat!
