This landmark meeting resulted in the creation of the American Wildlife Conservation Partners, a coalition of wildlife organizations focused on conservation, healthy fish and wildlife populations, and responsive management of important areas of habitat. As of 2021, AWCP has grown to 50 organizations, including Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. AWCP member groups represent the interests of America’s millions of hunter-conservationists, professional wildlife and natural resource managers, outdoor recreation users, conservation educators, and wildlife scientists. While individual organizations have their own primary areas of interest, collectively AWCP members are dedicated to ensuring the vitality of our wildlife resources and providing for sustainable public use and enjoyment of those resources under the science-based management of state and federal fish and wildlife agencies, in cooperation with habitat and land management by federal, tribal, state, county and local governments. Below are joint letters with various AWCP member organizations whose signatories include BHA. They have been submitted in order to advance administrative and legislative policies at the federal and congressional levels to promote science-based fish and wildlife conservation. 2023 Letters: August 9th - AWCP Letter to Secretary of Education Re BSCA Interpretation April 25th - AWCP CWD Appropriations Letter March 20th - Sportsman Support for a Bipartisan “Cottonwood Fix” March 14th - FY24 Migration Senate Appropriations Letter March 14th - MAPLand FY24 Appropriations Committee Feb 28th - RISEE Act 2023 Support Letter 2022 Letters: Nov 1st - Support for America's Outdoor Recreation Act of 2022 Oct 5th - Migration Corridors and Seasonal Habitats on USFS Lands May 23rd - Support for Pittman-Robertson Act May 9th - Migration Corridors and Seasonal Habitats on USFS Lands May 3rd - Hunt-Fish MAPLand Appropriations FY2023 March 23rd - Re: Feb. 10, 2022, Court Decision Regarding the Gray Wolf March 11th - Center for Biological Diversity v.
