PA BHA Statement on CWD Research

/ Categories: Media, State Issues

The Pennsylvania Chapter of BHA recognizes that Chronic Wasting Disease in deer is a real threat that demands real management solutions, including more research.

Any claims to have already found a cure should be regarded with caution, to say the least.

While we certainly hope a cure is found, until then we urge the PA Game Commission and other wildlife managers in affected states to take the steps necessary to control the spread of the disease, using the best management practices agreed upon by wildlife biologists and outlined in a report by the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies.
