Stewardship

Welcome to BHA’s new website! This digital campfire is still being built—thanks for bearing with us as we get it burning bright.

Stewardship

Stewardship is the counterpart to BHA’s policy arm. It’s the grassroots power to improve habitat, ecosystem health and water quality throughout North America.

BHA works hand in hand with wildlife departments and local, state, provincial, and federal land management agencies to support fish and game species and the habitats they depend on.

Our goals are twofold: to improve access to public lands and waters and to advance the stewardship of the fish and wildlife habitat that our public lands and waters provide. We focus on projects that benefit species essential to our outdoor traditions of hunting and fishing, but we also often include threatened and endangered species or key pollinator plants in our stewardship work in order to provide ecosystem level benefits across landscapes.

BHA chapter leaders, volunteers, partners and staff are committed to ensuring we have healthy habitats and abundant populations of fish and wildlife for generations to come.

We have fallen heirs to the most glorious heritage a people ever received, and each one must do his part if we wish to show that the nation is worthy of its good fortune.”
